What would you like your character's tag to be?: Rudy Lom
Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present):

Character's personality:
Rudy's expertise lies in robotics, artificial intelligence programming, and microprocessor and microservo technologies. He supervises the Police Department's Synthetic Dispatch Division. He rarely is out in the field unless it's helping repair an android or providing information. He's usually found in his laboratory that was built in an old church.
His high intelligence level often tends to cause Rudy to alienate himself from the rest of the team. He would remark how no one comes to visit him or invite him out. They only come to him for information or a task that needed to be handled. He was quite excited when Dorian (Dorian is an outdated android that is assigned to be Detective Kennex's partner.) eventually invites him out to celebrate despite Detective Kennex's ( a detective that recently rejoins the force after being in a comma for two years.) approval. Later on, Dorian becomes Rudy's roommate.
He is quite protective of Dorian and on how people view him and what they say about the android. He claims that Dorian is one of the crazy ones and that he has problems just like everyone else. Often he is defending the android. At the same time, he is careful on what Dorian knows about his past life. He made sure those files were not accessible and dances around the subject. While Dorian is in sleep mode, Rudy tends to do some examinations on the android and has discovered a few things he's unsure of how they were placed in and why. The only person he made sure is aware of this is Detective Kennex.
Rudy tends to not do well under pressure. He tends to jumble up his words and looses the whole meaning of what was meant to be said. He also speaks with a British accent and uses a lot of technology jargon that he often has to break down what he says in a more simplified manner.
He doesn't like having his work rushed and feels that it's a work of art. While he's quite protective of his work, he is doesn't approve when people take care of sophisticated devices like an android using crude means to repair them. An example being using chewing gum to hold wires together when Dorian had been shot. It's one of the rare times he speaks up and isn't afraid to lecture.
Rudy loves fashion and tends to favor Victorian fashion. It was once stated that he was a child model. He gets excited when he gets to dress his teammates up and tends to go a bit extreme. When he got to go undercover for a case he wanted to wear a disguise and already had an alter ego formed. Only he had to get it approved by Detective Paul who denied most of his work and was extremely harsh on him trying to prep him for the role. He was apologetic about it, but wanted to make sure Rudy understood what he was going through and that nothing would be perfect.
At one point Rudy had been a well known hacker and was known under the alias aphid. In his defence he felt the insect was a really small destructive creature. The name however had enough credential and allowed them to get the information they needed in the hacker world.
He worshiped the creator of Dorian as he had created a new pathway toward androids in general. He still even believed in him after his failures. When he got to meet the creator he practically bowed before the man and blindly did and gave him what he wanted. He didn't know that in the end he was being used. Rudy had stated how he wished he had been bold enough to break boundaries like he had.
Character's skills/abilities/powers:
Rudy is the technician for the police force and supervises the Police Department's Synthetic Dispatch Division. Rudy's expertise lies in robotics, artificial intelligence programming, and microprocessor and microservo technologies.
While he's well known for his skills with robotics he is unable to hold his own out on the field. He doesn't know how to fight back or use a gun and his team views him as fragile. He has a hard time interacting with people due to his high intelligence. He tends to jumble his words when nervous and excited. He seems to struggle trying to interact with women in general and often laments on it. Sometimes his over eagerness can get in the way, but people view that as part of his charisma.
Despite his weakness, he is very loyal to his team and will do what he can to help. He hates not being able to do nothing.

Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them?
Aside from having a castmate I think it would be interesting to have him in a different environment from his world.
Writing Sample #1:
Rudy didn't have a clue of how he got here or why. But he scanned the lounge trying make sense of this situation. Was this perhaps a strange dream? Or was he suffering some kind of strange hallucination? Warily, Rudy approached the bar and sat down.
He took his hat off and picked at it with his fingers as he tried to decide what to do. He debated on approaching someone and asking questions, but at the same time he was rather frightened by the idea. Everyone else around here appeared at ease though, so there didn't seem to be a need to be alarmed...
Yet, this was not his world. That much he knew. Rudy didn't like not having Kennex or Dorian by his side while he was in a strange place. Normally he would have been content on ordering a martini...but not now. He continued to fidget with his hat until he was able to work up the nerve to approach someone.
It wasn't even fun drinking...It never was when you were by yourself in a strange place. Yet, he had always wanted to be on a ship...exploring space. But he wanted to know why and how he got here. Picking up his hat once more and taking a deep breath, Rudy finally got up the nerve to go and approach someone. Hopefully they would be nice and answer his questions.
